I recently returned from Marrakech, Morocco where I finished filming the Afghanistan portion of a feature film, GloriaJesus, produced and directed by Belgium director Xavier Nellens. In Morocco, I rode a camel, took a 4 hour ride with twists turns in a bus up the "high Atlas"mountain (where in the middle of nowhere is a bustling half-mile stretch of road that lights up like Las Vegas at night with busy shops and restaurants), met some locals while on location, wonderful people. Morocco is famous for its productions facilities etc. Many great directors and movies have been filmed in Morocco, like Ridley Scott who was there shooting with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe at the same time as us. In the mountains, it seemed you could see every star in the sky at night... an amazing view. We were able to get some great footage from the mountains, desert and the palace of a former King of Morocco. Built in the 1700s, this opulent palace is truly a museum. For the same project, we filmed in Belgium, UK, Brazil, China, and Israel, and wrapped in September 2009. This film will be submitted to film festivals.
